Paramount Rx is sponsoring the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs’ (NCPDP) Annual Technology & Business Conference from May 5-9 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix.

At the conference, Paramount Rx will showcase the benefits of its innovative prescription drug discount program for the 84 million uninsured or under-insured Americans, almost half of the working-age adults in the United States.

Discount prescription drug programs benefit not only consumers and pharmacies but also businesses and their surrounding communities.

“The NCPDP conference provides an opportunity for the industry to address the delivery of pharmacy services to improve patient safety and access to health care,” said Paramount Rx President Philip Escaldi. “Although current health care practices have made it cost prohibitive for nearly 84 million people without insurance and prescription benefits to receive the treatment they need, discount pharmacy plans are actively addressing this issue to help promote wellness and equal access to affordable health care.”

Paramount Rx has developed a consumer-driven discount prescription card program to help solve the challenges of uninsured and under-insured consumers, including more than almost half of the American workforce who do not have benefits and the approximately 80 million adults who don’t seek medical help or prescription drugs because of the cost, according to a recent report by the Commonwealth Fund and reported by Bloomberg.
